Absence of FGFR3–TACC3 rearrangement in hematological malignancies with numerical chromosomal alteration
نویسندگان
چکیده
FGFR–TACC, found in different tumor types, is characterized by the fusion of a member fibroblast grown factor receptor (FGFR) tyrosine kinase (TK) family to transforming acidic coiled-coil (TACC) proteins. Because chromosome numerical alterations, hallmarks FGFR–TACC fusions are present many hematological disorders and there no data on prevalence, we studied series patients with acute myeloid leukemia myelodysplastic syndrome who presented alterations using cytogenetic traditional analysis. None analyzed samples showed FGFR3–TACC3 gene fusion, so screening for this mutation at diagnosis not recommended.

Telomere Shortening in Hematological Malignancies with Tetraploidization—A Mechanism for Chromosomal Instability?
Aneuploidy, the presence of an abnormal number of chromosomes in a cell, is one of the most obvious differences between normal and cancer cells. There is, however, debate on how aneuploid cells arise and whether or not they are a cause or a consequence of tumorigenesis. Further, it is important to distinguish aneuploidy (the "state" of the karyotype) from chromosomal instability (CIN; the "rate...

mycotic infections have been commonly encountered in patients with hematological malignancies. the current study seeks the prevalence of actinomycete infection in patients suffering from blood cells malignancies. a hundred and fifty patients with some kinds of blood cells dyscrasia who underwent the bone marrow aspiration were recruited. in addition to the diagnostic work up, samples were exami...
متن کاملViral infections in patients with hematological malignancies.
Viral infections remain one of the most frequent complications in patients with hematological malignancies, especially in those receiving an allogeneic stem cell transplantation. Viral infections result from reactivation of latent infection rather than from acquisition of new infection. Infections caused by herpes viruses, including cytomegalovirus and Epstein-Barr virus, respiratory viruses an...

متن کاملH1N1 infection in children with hematological malignancies.
In the recent pandemic of H1N1 infection, pediatric patients with haematological malignancies were considered high risk for severe illness. There is paucity of data regarding course of H1N1 infection in this subgroup. We describe H1N1 infection in 3 children with acute leukemia. All three patients presented with neutropenic fever; 2 had probable fungal pneumonia based on chest imaging and galac...
